The Carpenters’ Union Training Center Update

February 20, 2009

By, Mike Benike

Work continues at the new Carpenter’s Union Training Center in south Rochester. The project, expected to be complete April 1, 2009 will be a welcome addition to the airport industrial park at 10th Street SW. Trades onsite include carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plasterers, and glazing. Progress has been swift, but not rushed, allowing for each trade to be thorough, high-quality, and provide consistent workmanship. The interior of the project will undergo a dramatic change in the next 30 days as the architectural woodwork and other finishes begin to be installed. This project is a highlight of union labor from all trades. The pride in each tradesperson’s workmanship is noticeable.

The Carpenters are planning an Open House in June to showcase this new facility build by Union Labor.
