'Rock Your Choice' to support the CMR on July 24!
CMR
supporters are invited to the "Rock Your Choice Art
Auction" from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24 at
the Eagles Club (917 15th Ave. SE). The CMR is one of several
non-profit beneficiaries of this fun and worthy event and will have a
booth set up on-site. (Last year more than 400 people attended!)
There is a $5 admission fee, which CMR
supporters can earmark for the Children's Museum project.
Auction-goers can enjoy live musical entertainment (bands include
Scenery Sponge, Zed on Arrival, and more) and bid on items like
sculptures, paintings, jewelry, and vases.

CMR keeps busy at Rochesterfest.
CMR
supporters and volunteers kept busy the week of
Rochesterfest.
Kids swarmed to our "CMR Under
Construction" exhibit at Rochesterfest's Family Fun Night on
June 24. Then, on June 26, lots of cute kids and their parents
participated in the Rochesterfest
Parade.
Thanks to all the CMR volunteers who
helped staff our exhibit, walk in the parade, and answer questions
about our project!

Save the date for 'Incredible Family Fun Night' on August 14.
Join us
for an "Incredible Family Fun Night" fundraising
event for the CMR at the History Center of Olmsted County on
August 14. This awesome fundraiser will include magic by Bob Miller,
music by Jake Donze, crazy hair-dos by Little Dudes-n-Divas,
inflatables by Party Zone Inflatables, food by Johnny Mangouras (for
purchase), and a movie on the barn ("The Incredibles").
Save the date and check out our fun poster and TV Public Service Announcements that we are
using to promote this event around town. Our event is a great chance
to have fun with your family and support a good cause at the same time!
The fun begins at 6 p.m. and the suggested donation is $5 per person or
$20 per family (or whatever you can afford). Please spread the word to
all your friends.

CMR on TV and in the newspaper.
The
CMR's TV Public Service Announcements are now airing
on FOX 47! We have a 15-second spot promoting our Incredible Family Fun
Night on August 14, and a 30-second spot that informs viewers about our
project and our need to find a space for the museum. Thanks to Ali
Lucia and the dozen kids who hammed it up for the TV cameras on a warm
day in June at Essex Park when the PSAs were
taped.
CMR also enjoyed front-page news coverage
in the Rochester Post-Bulletin on June 25. The article was titled
"Museum eyes 2010 opening" and
provided great exposure for our
project.
